Social work

Many women struggle for survival through a thousand insignificant daily chores. They work very hard both at home and in the field yet remain unnoticed and unappreciated. They are victims of manmade systems, exploitation and discrimination. Sr. Gracy was drawn to the women living in poverty and illiteracy. She started with Self Help groups – where the women would collect whatever they could and have a fund. When any one is in need they were supported from this fund. The women were taught to read and write. The programs are continued to liberate and empower women which is indeed a great challenge.
The model of Fr. Theodosius who dared to take risks and had the courage to struggle for a new social order are encouraging the sisters the best they can.
